As you walk through the doors of the new Perrine’s Produce location in New Smyrna Beach, you are consumed by a deluge of delights for the senses. You’ll smell the unmistakable sweetness of bakery items like pastries, cakes, cookies and pies; see rows and rows of tantalizing fare promising delectable dining in your not too distant future; and, quite frankly, where to begin your exploration becomes a tough decision.
If you head left, you are faced with huge bins and a towering wall filled with fresh produce. As you continue, there is a never-ending row of old fashioned snacks in bulk – everything from caramels, to licorice, to hard candies and more!
If you make a right, the entire back wall is lined with pretty ceramic planting pots in a gorgeous array of all sizes, shapes and colors. Freezer chests are brimming with shrimp skewers, scallops and salmon and the refrigerated section is full of premium meats and farm fresh dairy items. Pick up delicious Troyer deli meats and blue ribbon cheeses and if it is pasta night, some freshly grated parmesan or asiago. There are also fancy block cheeses and crackers that would make any party host proud.
The shelves in between hold too many incredible items to list, but here are a few to just give you a taste… dressings from raspberry vinaigrettes, to peppercorn, poppy seed and creamy avocado; jars of pickled peaches, Amish wedding products and kosher pickles; local Florida honey from orange blossom to palmetto; and specialty items like a fig spread that would be absolutely amazing with a wedge of brie.
If you like Perrine’s Produce in Port Orange (with its wines, artisan breads and award winning deli), you are going to love the new Perrine’s Produce in New Smyrna Beach…and it is only going to get better and better! Just a word of caution; and I hesitate to say this because I don’t want to scare you, but there is a very good chance you will become addicted.
