Looking for something fun to do? Making fruit pizza is fun and the result is a beautifully colorful, delicious summertime treat! It’s also a terrific recipe to make with kids. You can even make smaller, individual fruit pizzas that they can decorate with their favorite fruits themselves!
The crust is sugar cookie dough. You can make your own, but it’s easy and still very tasty to simply use a roll of pre-made sugar cookie dough. Whichever you choose, roll it out onto a round pizza pan and press ¼ cup of chopped pecans into the dough. You can omit the nuts if you aren’t a fan or worry about allergies with the kiddos. This recipe is one where you can just go ahead and do you! Then just bake that crust according to your recipe or the package.
The next step is to create the frosting, which is simply a room temperature, eight-ounce block of cream cheese mixed with ¼ cup of sugar. After your “pizza cookie” is baked and cooled, spread that mixture on top.
Finally, we get to decorate. For this step, choose whichever fruits are your favorite, from kiwis, to bananas, to sliced strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, sliced peaches and more! It’s also up to you, but sprinkling your fruit pizza with coconut is also a sweet idea!
