It is very likely that walking through the aisles of any Perrine’s Produce location – conveniently located in Port Orange, Ormond Beach and New Smyrna Beach – will inspire you to culinary (and nutritional) greatness!
For instance, the other day, their very affordably priced red argentine shrimp caught my eye just after I had passed zucchini amongst an array of bins just bursting with fresh, local produce; and I thought…why combine shrimp with zucchini noodles for an easy to prepare, carb-free meal which everyone in my family will love? I took one step further, realizing how amazing dinner would be if I simply paired it with a loaf of their freshly baked artisan olive bread and a bottle of my favorite wine. Now that really got the juices flowing!
If you’re interested in whipping up some easy shrimp scampi with zucchini noodles, you only have to make a quick, affordable stop at Perrine’s Produce and…melt about two tablespoons of butter with one tablespoon of oil in a pan. Add a finely chopped garlic clove, a splash of wine, a dash of chicken stock and your shrimp. Cook on medium heat until they are pink. Then, in another pan, sauté a few spiral cut zucchini with some halved cherry tomatoes, salt and pepper. Combine both dishes and top with shaved parmesan cheese and fresh basil for pure perfection. Now just let that wine breathe and belly up to the table!
